NOTES

A post-apocalyptic shelter management and strategy game, shipped to Steam by Hamsters Gaming. I was gameplay programmer, one of three developers, across the full production cycle.

What I built

  • The quest system is entirely mine, from the core logic through to the view.
  • Steam achievements and Cloud Save are integrated through the Steamworks SDK.
  • Bunker population is data-driven — the simulation reads its people from data, it does not hard-code them.
  • Balance is authored in Google Sheets, exported to ScriptableObjects and read at runtime. A balance change is a data change, not a build.

How it is put together

  • MVC throughout, with a SOLID core.
  • The view layer is built with DOTween, which is what carries the animation in a game that is almost entirely UI.

Why this one matters on a CV

  • This is where my lead experience actually starts — part-way through this project, not on a later one. Three developers, full cycle, shipped.
  • I also worked on Evil Democracy: 1932 at the same studio after this release: bug fixes, system updates and interface work.

The bunker in cross-section: rooms stacked over several floors, with the day counter and resources along the top. The research panel: upgrade cards with their costs and effects. The strategic map of the United States, with rival bunkers marked and a target chosen. The weapons stock screen: pistols, shotguns, rifles and assault rifles with counts. A drone in a scan view, with its specification and detection odds beside it. The market: bunker resources traded against player resources.
